2020 Community Partner Award Winner – Early Head Start Child Care Partnership

Congratulations goes out to Child Care Resource Center’s Early Head Start Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) program!

The program was recently awarded the “2020 Community Partner Award” by San Bernardino County (SBC) Preschool Services Department (PSD) at their 11th annual “Thriving Together” conference. The annual event recognizes local community partners who strive to support the lives of children and families.

Throughout its five years, EHS-CCP has worked with 25 child care partnership providers serving over 100 Early Head Start children. For child care providers, the program funding and coaching helped further their education through professional development opportunities or assisting their efforts in earning their Associate Child Development Permit or other approved degree/certification. Additional benefits included using funds to purchase materials and equipment to increase the quality of their indoor and outdoor environments.

Christina Aranda, Resource & Referral Manager in Victorville, CA virtually accepted the award. “It’s a team effort, with our collaboration with PSD, ongoing coaching and training and our continued commitment from the CCP Providers. It’s amazing to see how much has been accomplished since the beginning of the program 5 years ago. Together with SBC PSD we are making a difference in the lives of children by increasing quality care in San Bernardino County. ”

The Partnership program is a leading national model based on the proven success of the Early Head Start program. Enrolled child care providers commit to improving their quality of care by meeting these requirements, ensuring that children receive healthy early experiences and developmentally appropriate activities to help them realize their full potential. Families are also supported throughout this process with access to full day, full year high quality child care, ongoing comprehensive services including nutrition, dental, mental, and other family needs, as well as ongoing assessments and support of social, emotional, and physical development. They serve children ages 0-3 in a child care setting or 0-4 in a family child care home.
