We have received $50,000 to support families during COVID-19 Pandemic!

They say difficult times often bring out the best in people. The COVID-19 pandemic is the greatest health and economic crisis we are facing as country and as a human race. Every day there are new challenges and uncertainties. People and businesses from all walks of life have had their lives turned upside down. But even during the darkest time, there is always hope as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr once said, “We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.”

We can definitely live by this quote. Over the last few months, CCRC has received a number of generous grants from local community partners and for-profit businesses - all stepping up to the plate when it is needed the most.

Collectively CCRC has received $42,500 from the following companies and organizations:

  • Kroger Foundation has granted CCRC with $5,000 to purchase food for children and families in San Bernardino County
  • No Kid Hungry has awarded CCRC with $10,000 to purchase and distributed thousands of fresh fruits and vegetables for our weekly distribution events
  • Arrowhead United Way has also awarded CCRC with $7,500 to support children and families in San Bernardino County with essential needs, such as: diapers, school supplies, face coverings, cleaning supplies and food
  • Inland Empire Community Foundation has granted CCRC with $20,000 to support with critical and essential items for children and families in San Bernardino County
  • Wells Fargo Foundation has awarded CCRC with $7,500 to provide essential items for children and families

Thank you is understatement. We are overwhelmed and are so thankful for the grants we have received. Because of their support, CCRC is pleased to announce we have distributed the following items to families in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties:

  • 7,719: Bags of food
  • 183,636: Face coverings
  • 10,246 Children’s books
  • 3,307 School supplies
  • 8,342 Toiletries
  • 308, 821 Diapers and wipes
  • ** Cumulative as of 8/17/2020

Since March, CCRC has held weekly distribution events at its four main locations: San Fernando Valley, Antelope Valley, San Bernardino and Victorville. With unemployment rate as high as 16.3% in California, we know parents are struggling to provide critical items for their families. The need is there and the demand is growing. Every week, the lines are getting longer, with families lining up as early as 6:00 in the morning.
