CCRC is headed to the ice to help families score big! A new partnership with Ontario Reign, a professional ice hockey team in Ontario, California, will benefit families across the Inland Empire.
Fans at the 2022-2023 American Hockey League Season home games will see an electronic message on the digital dashboard promoting CCRC’s services and our diaper drive. We have a designated booth in the arena that will allow us to provide information to families about how CCRC can help pay for child care. We will also be the presenting partner of the Ontario Reign Kids Club and the Read to Reign program.
The goal of this partnership is to raise awareness about CCRC’s services and connect with families. On February 17, CCRC staff will collect supplies for our diaper drive. Infants require up to 12 diapers per day and toddlers go through about eight diapers each day. Disposable diapers can cost $70 to $80 per month for a single baby and nearly 1 in 3 Americans households cannot afford diapers. At a pair of drives we hosted in 2021, we collected thousands of diapers from generous community members and businesses who wanted to support local families.
Like CCRC, the Ontario Reign believes in uplifting families in its community. That’s why this partnership made sense for both organizations.
The Ontario Reign began play as a minor professional team in 2008 and became a professional team in the 2015–16 season. The team is affiliated with the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings, and plays its home games at the Toyota Arena in Ontario.
