[Webinar] Dreams Realized: Addressing Disparities and Promoting Equity through Universal Preschool
May 10, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Families thrive when they have preschool options that meet their unique family needs.
Universal Preschool Bill, SB 976, sponsored by Senator Connie Leyva, and supported by CCRC, is key to providing more access to child care for families while continuing to strengthen the child care workforce.
In this free webinar, participants will learn and hear from both researchers and practitioners regarding the importance and benefits of a mixed delivery model for child care, not only for families, but for a sustainable early learning workforce in California. Panelists will share unique perspectives and lessons learned from states that face challenges with school-based only models for child care.
A strong mixed delivery system drives early childhood programs through a combination of provider types, including school-based, community-based, family child care homes, and Head Start. California’s diverse families thrive when child care is available to meet their needs, including cultural, linguistic, and developmental. A viable Universal Preschool model is critical to equitably meeting the needs of families and children, and helping to build the existing early learning workforce.
