Over 8,500 people came out for some spring fun at CCRC’s recent Play Days! We hosted our 3rd Annual San Bernardino Family Play Day on April 23 — and our 20th Annual Annabelle Godwin Play Day on May 14. Everyone was invited to join the fun at these free community events which featured interactive and inexpensive learning activities.
“We’re thrilled to have brought these amazing opportunities to San Bernardino and Los Angeles families again this year.” said CCRC’s Communications Director, Susan Montalvo.
There was something for every child at each event – from an infant area for the little ones to physical activities for the big kids. Families visited more than 100 booths offering games, raffle prizes, story time, arts and crafts, hair and face painting and interactive activities. Children enjoyed getting up close with critters at the reptile exhibit brought to both events by 1st Class Animals.
San Bernardino families loved taking pictures with lifelike animatronic dinosaurs from Garner Hold Productions, Inc., and Los Angeles families were treated to an unforgettable performance by the Copali Copili Aztec Dancers.
Every child who attended went home with an age-appropriate book courtesy of CCRC’s “What a Difference a BOOK Makes” literacy campaign. Families also received a free bag of fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmers market.
