May 15th, 2020, Los Angeles, CA – Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) is excited to announce it has received a generous donation from its longtime supporter and donor, DBS Bank! They have graciously donated $10,000 to help children and families in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties during this COVID-19 pandemic. The timing of this generous donation is so crucial and much needed for CCRC clients.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, children, families and child care providers are facing tremendous difficulties. With unemployment rates rising and family budgets already stretched thin, CCRC staff are seeing donation requests triple. Additionally, with the abrupt end of the school year, we know parents have limited funds to purchase educational materials and books. CCRC is working with an organization to purchase age appropriate books for a nominal fee. Our goal is to send a book to each child participating in CCRC’s services. Funds from DBS Bank’s donation will make this remarkable goal possible!
When asked why DBS Bank chose to support CCRC, their CEO elaborated on their long history together, “Our staff at DBS Bank has been involved with Child Care Resource Center both in volunteerism and financial donations and have the utmost respect for the staff and the organization’s mission. We are inspired by their work in the community, impressed with their kindness and touched by all the wonderful employees we have met over the years”. – Tom McCabe (US, CEO)
We are happy to announce because of DBS Bank’s generous donation; we will be able to provide a little relief to these deserving families and child care providers. Their monetary donation will allow us to distribute the following items:
- 200 packs of different sized diapers for struggling families
- 1,000 age appropriate books for children out of school or their current care facility
- 400 face masks for our essentially needed child care providers
“During this time, it is understandable for a business’s main focus to stay open and keep staff working. Therefore, to have DBS reach out to us and ask what can we do to help? How can we support your clients? It is truly incredible and we cannot be more thankful for their helping hands. We know our families and child care providers will be very grateful for these essential items. We look forward to continuing our partnership and, when things go back to normal, to host another successful volunteer event together”, said CCRC’s President and CEO, Michael Olenick.
CCRC is currently accepting donations of essential items such as: face coverings, no-touch thermometers, baby food, hand sanitizer, gloves, toilet paper and more. All essential items will be distributed to families and child care providers who are on the frontline. To make a donation, please contact us at [email protected] or at 866-67-4KIDS.
