On August 21st, The Honest Company, State Bags and Yoobi came together to host a Kindergarten Readiness Event benefitting Child Care Resource Center’s (CCRC) Head Start families. The event took place in the city of Arleta at CCRC’s Osborne Head Start Preschool. Over 750 children and parents attended the event and received essential tools and products to start the school year safely and in style!
The Honest Company, in collaboration with STATE Bags, sponsored the Kindergarten Readiness Event. Through their generosity, CCRC’s Head Start families received high quality backpacks packed with safe and responsible Honest products and much needed school supplies from Yoobi. Over 500 backpacks were distributed during the event with Jessica Alba, founder of the Honest Company, making an appearance to wish CCRC’s children and families the best of luck for the upcoming school year. Alba personally handed out backpacks, organic fruits and vegetables, and Honest products. Families also enjoyed interactive and developmentally appropriate games and activities, and each child received an age appropriate book as part of CCRC’s literacy campaign, What A Difference A BOOK Makes. “We are so thrilled to have been able to work with socially responsible organizations that serve a similar mission. Amazing things happen when businesses and nonprofits work together to strengthen the community,” expressed CCRC’s President & CEO Michael Olenick.
Over 50 volunteers and staff from Honest, STATE, Yoobi and CCRC worked together to host this unforgettable and rewarding event! The children were overjoyed and parents expressed their gratitude, “I’m so thankful to everyone involved and for all the items we received today. Every year, I worry about back to school shopping because I can’t afford to buy my kids what they need. This year, I feel confident sending my kids to school knowing they have these amazing backpacks and school supplies.”
