Message
from the President & CEO
Dear Child Care Providers,
As I complete my 10th year as President & CEO, I’m extremely proud of what we have helped the community achieve. The rate of change for us has been rapid and, quite often, an uphill climb. But, with every plan we strategize and every action we implement, we are driven by the desire to offer children, families, and providers an opportunity to succeed.

When reading this issue, please keep CCRC’s child care referral
policy in mind. You often ask us why you are not receiving
referrals from CCRC. On Page 4, you will learn how CCRC
generates the referrals for parents. Also, remember that we only provide referrals to licensed child care providers and we don’t make recommendations.
We are excited to announce that CCRC is participating in a countywide project funded by First 5 LA and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Eat Play Grow is designed to help you improve nutrition and physical activity in your child care setting. Please read page 2 to learn more and for workshop registration. Space is limited so call today!
CCRC’s Gateways for Early Educators program offers diverse and individualized pathways to professional development for all adults interested in early childhood and education. If you need new ideas or want to improve your quality of care, I encourage you to read page 6 for upcoming Gateways trainings or visit our website at www.ccrcla.org for a more comprehensive look.
Great news! CCRC is ranked the 4th highest provider of CPR classes in our region, which includes California, Hawaii and Guam! Last year, we certified 667 individuals. And, once again, the California Department of Education’s Child Development Division has granted CCRC funding to assist child care providers with the cost of CPR/First Aid trainings. Reimbursement funds are limited. For more information, please read page 7.
I want to thank you all for continuing to provide quality care every day – you give parents peace of mind while their children are in your care. At CCRC, we strive to support your education and training needs and update you with new laws and licensing requirements. Let us know if you have any ideas for additional ways we can support you.
Holiday holidays!
