Thousands of children and families are tragically affected every year by non‐traffic‐related incidents with vehicles. Leaving kids alone in or around a car even for just a Matter of MinutesTM can be deadly for the child and devastating for the family.
There are several steps you can take to keep your children safe:
• Neverleavechildrenalonein,ornear,acar
• If you see a child locked inside a car ‐ call 911 immediately
• Teach children that its not safe to play in, or around, a car even in driveways or parking lot • Keep car keys away from children and always keep cars locked
• Check cars and their trunks immediately if a child is missing

Gateways for Early Educators is a free unique development opportunity that supports the implementation of best practices for career and educational advancement by providing a training series and dedicated quality and career coaching to licensed and licensed-exempt early child care providers.
• Careercoachingassistsindividualswithcreatingandcompletingprofessionaltrainings. This may include, but is not limited to, obtaining a child development permit and pursuing their educational goals.
• Qualitycoachingassistsfamilychildcareprovidersinevaluatingandimprovingthe quality of child care in their facility. The coach is available for one on one site visits.
• TheGatewaysPassportgivesindividualsanopportunitytocompleterequiredtrainingsin designated core areas. Upon successful completion of the required 40 hours, participants receive the Karen Kay Award of Achievement and are invited to attend the awards ceremony at the end of the year.
