 High quality trainings are available to early education professionals and others who work with young chidren and families through CCRC’s Academy. These interactive and engaging sessions are available at all of our four office locations in Chatsworth, Palmdale, San Bernardino and Victorville. For a group of 15 or more, an on-site training can be facilitated.
Topics include:
▶ Screening and Observing Children: Learn effective observation
methods of infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
▶ Special Needs: Identify and understand the special education services
available to families.
▶ Guiding Behavior: Develop techniques that support the development
of young children’s behavior.
▶ Program Development and Support: Create and implement surveys, focus groups, and evaluations
to improve the quality of your program.
▶ CPR/Health & Safety: Acquire life saving techniques through EMSA approved Adult-Child-
Infant CPR and Pediatric First Aid training.
Online Training
For early childhood professionals in child care centers and family child care homes, achieving professional development goals is made easier with our Online Training Academy. These self-paced, self-guided courses are available 24/7, 365 days of the year and offer continuing education units. They are designed to help early childhood professionals complete annual training requirements and to obtain hours for a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential/renewal or in-service training.
Available topics include:
▶ Practical Strategies to Guide Children’s Behaviors ▶ Child Abuse Awareness
▶ Social Emotional Foundations for Learning
Additionally, child care professionals have the option to customize packages that fit their current needs that vary from 2-20 hours of training on topics including:

Emergency Preparedness (EP)
In an effort to improve emergency preparedness and response capabilities of child care providers, the Los Angeles Department of Public Health (DPH) contracted with CCRC to provide training and education in conjunction with resource & referral agencies across Los Angeles County.
