   Gateways for Early Educators
research projects (Los Angeles and Delaware) that showed early childhood educators often don’t participate in a quality improvement activities because of their limited time.
The reach of the Gateways for Early Educators Program has been vast both geographically and demographically. From 2011 to 2016, the program has provided training to 10,466 early childhood educators and has coached 2,251 participants. Participants in both training and coaching have included early childhood educators from the whole ECE workforce sector. The greatest challenge for participants in achieving their professional development goals has been a lack of time to engage in professional development and implement changes in their practice and programs. Successes of the program during the last 5 program years include building impactful coach-participant relationships, providing flexible and individualized professional development, professional and educational achievements, and improvement in child care program quality impacting children served by participating early childhood educators.
