Conclusion and Recommendations
Findings from the Gateways Training evaluation indicate that the trainings were impactful on early care and education professionals. Training participants gave trainings a high overall rating and indicated that they have gained helpful ideas they will be able to use in their child care, that the trainings were informative, and that the trainings increased their knowledge on the topics presented. As a result, early care and education professionals plan to implement new ideas or activities in their child care programs. Gateways trainings benefited a wide range of providers representing 271 zip codes across Los Angeles County. While trainings in Child Observation & Assessment, Health, Safety & Nutrition, and Learning Environment & Curriculum received high ratings, their low ratings relative to the other training strands evaluated may indicate greater need for trainings in these 3 strands. This may present an opportunity for the program to provide workshops in these training strands as training series to give the trainers and
