Module 4: Responding to Childhood Trauma [TIC]

The Bridge Program – Trauma Informed Care Team at CCRC o­ers Trauma Informed Care training to child care providers in various settings.

This workshop is part of an 18-hour training series comprised of six 3-hour modules that begin with brain development and end with building resilience.

Child care providers report an increase in understanding how trauma impacts development and learning trauma informed strategies that e­ffectively help address problem behaviors.

Module 4: Responding to Childhood Trauma:

• Engages child care providers to wonder what messages children communicate with their behaviors.
• Provides strategies to engage with children with trauma histories.
• Presents activities to help develop the “trauma informed care lens” and how to apply this in the context of a challenging behavior.
