CCRC held it’s 1st Annual Poker Tournament on Saturday, November 4th, 2017 to benefit its Annual Holiday Book and Toy drive. This sold out event raised over $19,000 and we reached 70% of our campaign goal thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and event attendees.
Over 75 guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner by Executive Chef Dean Kahn. West LA Poker facilitated a poker tournament and offered poker lessons before the competition. We had amazing prizes for the first, second and third place winners. Each ticket sold helped us ensure at least FIVE children will receive books, toys and a more joyful holiday!
CCRC’s President & CEO, Dr. Michael Olenick, “There are 330,000 children in our services area that currently live below the federal poverty level, this fundraising event is to support a great cause – distributing toys during the holiday might seem like small gesture to many, but the relief that parents feel knowing their child will have a book and a toy is extraordinary. This is the reason our Communications team started the Holiday Book and Toy Drive 10 years ago!”
