thousands of families are receiving masks for free.

thousands of families are receiving masks for free.

MROsupply is an online distributor of industrial, mechanical, conveyor, electrical and other products. The family-owned company first started doing business in Los Angeles as L.A. Rubber Company in 1898.

When the pandemic began, the company pivoted its production to face masks, hand sanitizer, gloves and other personal protective equipment.

Matthew Menashe, the general manager of MROsupply, said an employee shared that her family had received critical assistance from Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles and its partners, including CCRC.

Inspired by the employee’s positive experience with CCRC and its own emphasis on strong family bonds, MROsupply decided to donate to masks to CCRC.

“We knew people first hand who had used CCRC and it seemed like an opportunity to help people close to us,” Menashe said.

The masks donated to CCRC by the company are valued at $43,200, which covered the costs of about 360,000 masks in sizes for children and adults.

“MROsupply is proud to assist Child Care Resource Center in its mission to help families in our community thrive,” Menashe said. “Our goal in donating thousands of masks to CCRC is to help children, families, and providers remain healthy during these challenging times. We know CCRC will
distribute the masks to families and providers, in turn, reducing their risk of
contracting COVID-19 while they work, shop for groceries, and make other
essential trips.”

CCRC, which serves over 50,000 children, families, and providers in the San Fernando and Antelope Valleys, wasted no time distributing the masks and has ensured through various supply distribution events that families in our community are equipped with this critical safety feature.
