GOAL 1 Leader in family well-being for all families
While child care has historically been the initial entry point into CCRC, our family needs assessment revealed that families often come to CCRC with a wide range of needs and challenges. What’s needed isn’t necessarily a single service, but a coordinated response that accounts for child development, education, health, and employment support, among others. This plan calls on CCRC to break new ground in our efforts to support the whole person and whole family – including extended families and expectant parents. It builds on the growing recognition within the field of the importance of infant, child, and family mental health and the need for trauma-responsive practices that honor and support vulnerable families.
Strategies
a. Diversify and expand the supports and services made available to families.
b. Establish a point-of-entry to connect incoming families to a range of possible resources including basic needs, child care assistance, workforce development, etc.
c. Expand trauma-informed mental and behavioral health supports for children, families, and child care providers.
