Trauma-Informed Support
In an effort to provided Trauma Informed Care (TIC) services to child care providers, CCRC recruited, hired and trained three TIC consultants and one TIC supervisor. In response to the pandemic, the team transformed all module trainings to work in a virtual environment. Enrollment in trainings increased dramatically and we even began seeing providers from outside our service area attend our trainings. The TIC team also developed a new Historical Trauma training module.
Early Head Start
Early Head Start (EHS) programs serve infants and toddlers under the age of 3 and pregnant women. EHS programs provide intensive, comprehensive and family support services to eligible families with infants and toddlers, and to pregnant women.
Early Education Partnerships
The Preschool Foundations and Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (HSELOF) utilizes age and culturally appropriate curriculum to better meet the child’s individual needs and align with objectives outlined in
the School Readiness Goals. CCRC’s Home Based program use the Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum which targets skills within the five central developmental domains at different stages of development through child-driven activities. Our Center-Based and Family Child Care options use the Creative Curriculum, which includes a family plan and activities that begin when the child is 27 months old. While in centers, families can visit the site and get familiar with it prior to starting school. The Home-Based Educator and or Family Advocate takes the lead to connect with center staff to provide the opportunity for a warm hand-off.
