 OVERVIEW & INTRODUCTION
Defining Key Terms
As we continue to implement our DEI Strategic Plan, it is critical to establish a shared understanding and definition on how we think through each principle. The DEI Division’s working definitions are as follows:
  • Diversity
A broad variety of differences in social identities, perspectives, and skills
• Inclusion
An environment that actively welcomes, connects, values, and promotes our CCRC community
• Equity
Practices and policies that are built on a just, transparent, and consistent foundation
• People of Color
Throughout this report “People of Color” (POC) refers to people identifying with
an y of the following U.S. racial/ethnic groups: Asian/ Pacific Islander, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Multi-Racial, and Native American/Native Alaskan
