What to do
1 Tie the rods together into a cross shape with the string, making sure the rods stay centered.
2 Cut out a paper kite shape that is an inch or two bigger in diameter than the cross on all sides.
3 Fold down the extra inch or two of paper on each diagonal and secure with tape to create a thick edge.
4 Tape the paper portion of the kite to the cross.
5 Tie a long piece of string to the point where the bars cross, leaving the end attached to
the spool.
Watermelon!!!
Did you know August is national watermelon month? And 92% of watermelon is water? The United States currently ranks 5th in worldwide production of watermelon and California is one of the leading states!
We love watermelon! It is light, refreshing and inexpensive. There are many different ways to use it in your cooking. You can add it to your salad, smoothies or infuse your water by adding watermelon cubes.
Minty Watermelon Lime Popsicle Recipe:
• 2 cups 1-inch cubed watermelon 1 Blend all ingredients together in a blender

Make a Kite this summer!
What you need
• 2 tbsp fresh-squeezed lime juice 2 Pour mixture into mold and insert stick
• 6 mint leaves, chopped
3 Freeze until solid
4 Run warm water over mold to release popsicle
