• Never leave children alone in or near a car.
• If you see a child locked inside a car - CALL 911!
• Teach children not to play in or near a car, even in driveways or parking lots.
• Keep cars locked and keys away from children.
• Check cars and their trunks immediately if a child is missing.
• Check that all small passengers have left the car once it’s parked.
Emergency Preparedness
Emergencies or disasters can happen at any time. How prepared is your child care program to respond? Families trust child
care providers for the safety and well-being of their children while they are in their care. During emergencies of all types and sizes, children rely on the adults caring for them.
Your ability to quickly respond and recover from emergencies such as fires, power outages, and threats of violence depends on how prepared you are. Thanks to generous funding from the Emergency Preparedness & Response Program of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, CCRC is able to offer free trainings and information to the community.
