CCRC’s Resource & Referral (R&R) program reflects our mission statement – Quality, Support, Development and
Education. R&R staff strengthen children, families, child care providers, and the community through a variety of
programs and services.
PARENTS & CHILDREN – Connecting parents to quality child care and other resources
CHILD CARE CHOICES, EDuCATION & REFERRALS – 17,398 child care referrals
Referral Specialists assist parents, at no charge, in locating and selecting the best child care for their family’s needs – types of child care, how
to identify a quality environment, and referrals to licensed child care providers.
BOOk, TOY & RESOuRCE LIBRARY – 4,294 visitors
CCRC now offers four full-service Book, Toy and Resource Libraries that provide thousands of high quality, age appropriate children’s books,
toys, games, puzzles and play equipment as well as child development books, videos and other resources for parents and child care providers.

Weekly home visitation activities focus on preparing both the parent and the child for school and developing skills to be successful in school.
Specialists provide information on child development and facilitate parent-child activities which support a parent’s role as their child’s first teacher.
FAMILY LITERACY – 1,000+ families impacted
CCRC offers several different opportunities for families to participate in literacy activities including Motheread, Jumpstart’s Read for the Record
and family literacy workshops. In addition, the agency collects and distributes over 100,000 books annually to families in our service area.
CHILD CARE PROvIDERS – Supporting child care providers through training, technical assistance, and professional development
GATEWAYS FOR EARLY EDuCATORS – 34certificate recipients complete 40hours of training
Funded by First 5 LA and administered by Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP), the Gateways program improves outcomes for children by enhancing the early education workforce. Gateways coaches encourage, mentor, and support child care providers to improve the level of quality in their child care environments.
CALIFORNIA CHILD CARE INITIATIvE PROjECT (CCIP) – 28 recruits, 189 training hours
The CCIP program is designed to increase the availability of licensed, quality child care. CCRC’s trained child development specialists
provide technical assistance and training to help child care providers meet California state licensing requirements and grow their businesses.
FAMILY CHILD CARE HOME EDuCATION NETWORk (FCCHEN) – 230 families, 40 providers
FCCHEN, funded by the California Department of Education (CDE), provides a quality child care experience in a home-based environment. Child care providers participating in this program are required to attend training to support
ongoing professional development and receive assessments of both their child care environment
and developmental progress of children in their care.
TRAININGS & INSTITuTES – 2,000+ (duplicated count) trainees
CCRC offers high quality, no cost and fee-for-service trainings and institutes for child care providers, parents and the community. Topics include CPR/First Aid, positive discipline, program planning, child observation & assessment, emergency preparedness, health & wellness, nutrition, and literacy.
