WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
An investment in workforce development enhances a region's economic stability and prosperity by focusing on people, rather than just businesses. The goal of CCRC’s workforce development is to help parents, child care providers, and educators reach their potential, become gainfully employed, and provide for their families and communities.
Subsidized child care is a great driver of economic stability for families as well as for small business owners who provide child care. CCRC’s Research Department performed a study regarding subsidized child care in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. Findings included:
■ Parents receiving services were statistically more likely to keep a job, acquire education/training, take steps to become financially independent, work overtime, and provide a positive environment.
■ Children in our program were statistically more likely to be healthier, achieve age appropriate milestones, positively socialize with other children, and be prepared to excel in school.
