TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Technology is constantly changing and improving. CCRC strives to stay innovative by incorporating technological advancements and ideas in order to serve the community in a more productive manner. We look for systems that facilitate continuous program improvement, outcomes, and sustainability. Advances in this field include:
■ In partnership with Subvertical, LLC, the Research Department is developing a web-based software and data repository for entry, storage, and analysis of demographic, quality improvement, and other program data. This information will capture a critical picture of the current landscape of early childhood care and education issues facing the community as well as help with future planning. This product brings technology to program staff and end users (e.g., providers), making the power of technology universally available.
■ ProDev+ is a web-based technology developed for Gateways for Early EducatorsTM and Choose Health LA: Child Care programs. This system helps connect grantees across Los Angeles County – the collected information helps measure the programs’ effectiveness.
■ Parents can now access their child care services information, and providers can manage their child care payment information, online − at any time. This streamlines the payment process, saves time, and lessens the number of emails and phone calls.
■ As a partner of the Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles, CCRC’s Research Department acted as an advisor in the development of and created outreach methods to encourage providers to enroll in the California Early Care & Education Workforce Registry, increasing their roles as professionals (183 CCRC providers; 924 LA County providers in 2014-15).
