Come explore at our library!
In the summer, you probably see an increase in the number of kids in your care. And, sometimes you run out of games and activities to keep them entertained. We invite you to add a visit to CCRC’s library to your weekly calendar!
CCRC’s Book, Toy and Resource Library offers an amazing place to play, explore, discover and learn for free! You can check out up to 10 high quality, age appropriate resources for 30 days at a time, - amazing!
You will enjoy:
o Books and age appropriate toys for infants through school age
o Books for adults on child development, parenting, curriculum, etc.
o Use of butcher paper, die cuts, and laminating materials free to anyone who visits the library.
o Weekly story time and art activity occurs every Wednesday and every child goes home with a free book - reservations are required!
Open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and Fridays by reservation only.
If you can’t visit us this summer, you can still enjoy the same activities we are!

             Wave Bottles
Materials Needed:
Several one liter plastic
bottles and a few two
liter bottles, vegetable
oil, water, blue food coloring, hot glue gun.
1 Fill the bottle 2/3 full with water. Add a few drops of food coloring and shake.
2 Fill the rest of the bottle with vegetable oil. Hot glue the cap on. Let the glue dry completely.
3 Hold the bottle sideways and move from left to right to make waves.
EXTENSION: Add small, plastic sharks and other ocean items to these for added fun! This ”paint” should dry quickly and wash off easily.
  Painting
It can get pretty hot outside this time of year. Include water play as part of your preschool summer activities theme planning!
Materials: Fill a sand pail with water and food coloring and supply large paint brushes. Let the children paint on the sidewalk with the water! This “Paint” should dry quickly and wash off easily.
