         Message from thePresident & CEO
Child Care Providers,
I feel very optimistic about what’s coming for Early Childhood Programs in 2015! To start, the Federal Government reauthorized the current Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) and increased funding for children by $75 million for children.
Also, CCRC is one of 31 agencies in California to be awarded Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships Grant to serve 216 infants and toddlers with annual funding close to $3 million. This Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership grant allows CCRC to provide and train child care providers, like you, to offer working families the same comprehensive services as the Early Head Start program. You will benefit from coaching and mentoring to maintain a high level of care and families will receive parenting and child development support.
In addition, on January 20th, in his 2015 State of the Union Address, President Obama emphasized the importance of affordable, quality child care as one of his main strategies to help working families
“And that's why my plan will make quality childcare more available, and more affordable, for every middle-class and low-income family with young children in America -- by creating more slots and a new tax cut of up to $3,000 per child, per year.”
Following the State of the Union, The President submitted his proposed budget for the 2016 fiscal year, that includes a monumental investment in child care and early childhood.

It is reassuring that the White House has recognized the weight that quality, affordable child care has on all of us.
I have always said that child care is an economic engine, it keeps parents and child care providers working, which put money back into the economy. In 2014 alone, over 18,000 families were able to work and or attend school due to the financial child care assistance they received from CCRC. These are just some of the numbers that keep our economic engine going. We’ll keep you informed as the budget process continues and let you know how
it might affect you.
