All children deserve a quality start.
A new quality rating and improvement system (QRIS), officially launched in San Bernardino! Research shows that the care and education children receive from ages 0-5 plays a significant role in early brain development and those who attend high quality early learning programs are more likely to graduate from high school and have successful careers. The QRIS framework focuses on child development and school readiness, teachers and teaching, program and environment. The goal for fiscal year 2016/17 is to recruit, enroll and rate 90 child care sites.
Quality Start San Bernardino County is led by First 5 San Bernardino, San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Child Care Resource Center, California State University San Bernardino, and many other organizations throughout the County.
