Project Overview
In 2012–2013 the LACDPH EPRP contracted with the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) to coordinate two countywide projects. The project goals and timelines are described below. Tables 3 and 4 give the timelines for each project.
Project Goals: Original Grant
Goal 1: Improve emergency preparedness and response capabilities of R&R/AP agencies throughout Los Angeles County, their associated early care and education providers and the children and families they serve.
Objective 1: Determine current emergency preparedness requirements, policies, and best practices that exist for R&Rs and the range of early care and education provider types and settings in Los Angeles County.
Objective 2: Assess current level of perceived risk, need, and overall preparedness and response readiness of R&Rs and the range of early care and education provider types and settings in Los Angeles County.
Objective 3: Develop Emergency Preparedness and Response Toolkitc targeting R&R and AP agencies and the range of early care and education provider types and settings in Los Angeles County, including the children and families they serve.
Objective 4: Increase the utilization, perceived benefit and understanding of the content within the Emergency Preparedness and Response Toolkit by R&R and AP agencies and the range of early care and education provider types and settings in Los Angeles County, including the children and families they serve.
Objective 5: Establish recommendations and best practices to improve Emergency Preparedness and Response capabilities of R&R and AP agencies and the range of early care and education provider types and settings in Los Angeles County, including the children and families they serve, based on all project research, toolkit development, and training and outreach.
  c The training toolkit comprises two elements: (1) an informational toolkit, which includes written materials and resources that give the providers the tools they need to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies; and (2) a supply toolkit (fanny packs, backpacks, buckets) that holds emergency supplies.
