Project Partners
Los Angeles County Department of Public Health
The Los Angeles County EPRP operates within the LACDPH. The EPRP vision is that “Los Angeles County residents are protected from the public health consequences of both natural and intentional emergencies.”25 The EPRP mission is “to prevent and mitigate the public health consequences of natural or intentional emergencies for Los Angeles County residents through threat assessment, planning, improved operational readiness, and timely response.” EPRP funded this project with support from the Centers for Disease Control. Aizita Magaña, EPRP Staff Analyst, provided the following project support:
 Developed scope of work, objectives, and activities for the program.
 Provided the lead agency, CCRC, with technical support to complete contracts,
process invoices, and complete budget modifications and reporting requirements.
 Provided links to multiple resources in the area of disaster preparedness and response.
 Participated in regular meetings to develop the training curriculum and toolkit.
 Made recommendations for vendors for CCALA working sessions.
 Provided general project and evaluation guidance throughout the program.
R&R and AP Agencies
The Los Angeles County R&R agencies and AP agencies operate together under the umbrella of the CCALA, whose mission is “to make quality child care and early education and school readiness services accessible to all families in Los Angeles County through an alliance of community-focused Alternative Payment and Resource and Referral agencies.”26 This group of agencies serves Los Angeles County families by participating in several activities:
 Connecting parents and families to a local R&R agency for information about early education and child care options
 Providing information about the various subsidized child care programs
 Linking early care and education providers to training and technical assistance
through the Gateways for Early Educators Program
 Informing providers about training sessions and technical assistance workshops through the Gateways Countywide Training Calendar
 Updating the community on key public policy issues impacting early education and child care programs
 Offering information about other services, programs, and initiatives for parents and early care and education providers
