Early Care and Education Provider Trainings
The main product of the resources review of existing regulations, resources, and toolkits was a training toolkit for early care and education providers. This toolkit was designed not only from the regulations and resources described earlier in this report, but also designed based on the feedback from early care and education professionals, program staff, and management who develop training workshops for this group, as well as the Staff Analyst at LACDPH. Using this newly designed training toolkit, six R&R agencies conducted a total of 11 training workshops with 250 early care and education providers in May and June 2013 (see Table 11). These training workshops included one combined train-the-trainer and early care and education professionals training and 10 other trainings exclusively for early care and education professionals. The trainings, which were aimed at changing knowledge and awareness about emergency preparedness and response, were offered in English and Spanish. One R&R agency provided workshops conducted simultaneously in English and Spanish.
Sign-in sheets and evaluation forms were completed and collected during each training. The sign-in sheets were intended to track the number of participants attending the trainings and to capture information about the participants. The training evaluation forms (Appendix D) afforded the participants an opportunity to provide feedback on the training and to provide information about themselves and their child care programs. In some instances, participants provided their information on the sign-in sheet but did not
