About the Participants
As seen in Figure 1, of the 250 participants who attended the trainings, 60% identified as family early care and education providers, 11% as license-exempt providers, 4% as center- based staff, and 3% as R&R staff. Most of the participants who responded Other to this question were potential providers or assistants who did not specify what type of child care program they worked in. Fifteen percent of the participants did not provide this information.

reported serving the larger number of families were center-based staff. On average, providers who served children under age 3 served 3.4 children in this age group. Providers who served children 3–5 years old served on average 4.5 children in this age group, and providers who served children 6 years or older served 3.0 children in that age group. Did the Trainings Impact Participant Knowledge?
A total of 228 (91%) participants completed an evaluation form used to measure change in knowledge or awareness in 10 different areas of emergency preparedness and response. CCRC examined the following areas: knowledge of how to plan and prepare for a variety of emergencies and disasters, knowledge of how to make and use a disaster plan, knowledge on how to keep information needed for an emergency current, knowledge of how to keep information such as what is
