 2018-2019 Highlights
Help at Home
Our Home Visiting program utilizes the Parents As Teachers curriculum, in which we provide parents with encouragement, support and age-specific information to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life. Enrolled families receive two home visits each month for up to five years from a certified parent educator. Home Visitors work with new and expecting mothers to: •Enhance the parent-child relationship within the home
•Expand parenting knowledge and skills
•Optimize a child’s early nutrition and brain development. •Build strong family-friendly communities
•Promote a safe and healthy home
Family Economics & the Cost of Care
Child care is difficult to afford for many families. The U.S. Department
of Health & Human Services defines child care as being affordable if it comprises 7% or less of a family’s income. In California, single parents spend 24% of their income on child care, and two-working-parent families spend 20%, on average. This means families’ child care budgets are about three times greater than the federal definition of affordable care.
Through 171 million in funding provided to CCRC from the state and county, 27,421 children benefited from child care which enabled parents to go to work or school.
Thank you for all your help with finding a day care and getting all the paperwork in order for us and the providers. Your hard work and dedication is very important to us and it truly makes our lives easier.
I recently understood the saying: It takes a village to raise a child. I am grateful that you are in our village and the important role you play in our village. Thank you!

  Creating
Conversations
With the successful creation and implementation of a Universal CCRC Child Care Application, parents and Child Care Specialists have in-depth conversations about choosing a plan that works best for each family and share additional information and resources.
    CCRC has been life changing
for my family. The staff is caring, compassionate, and truly want to help families. They are always willing to listen, and provide you with helpful resources in child development. The programs have been influential in teaching my kids socialization and creativity. The children’s library
is always clean and well stocked with interactive toys that my children enjoy playing with. I know that I always have a safe, friendly environment to take my children to, free of charge. My children always look forward to going to CCRC!.
